The British Red Cross Fire and Emergency Support Service
The British Red Cross Fire and Emergency Support Service based at Keynsham Fire Station is on call 24 hours a day to provide practical and emotional support to people whose homes have been affected by a fire, flood or other disaster. Over the past year they have responded to over 100 incidents and helped over 600 people by providing refreshments, clothing, shelter and signposting.
The service is crewed entirely by volunteers, most of whom also have paid "day jobs." As a 24 hour service, they have opportunities to volunteer during daytimes, evenings, overnight and at weekends.
