Parish Council Meetings
STOKE GIFFORD PARISH COUNCIL MEETINGS STUCTURE
Full Council (Chairman - Ernest Brown/ Vice Chairman - David Skeet)
The Full Council meets on the second Tuesday of every month (except August). All meetings are held at the Little Stoke Community Hall starting at 7.00pm unless otherwise stated (see agenda). The Annual General Meeting takes places in May with a Public Meeting usually taking place in June.
All Council and Committee meetings are open to the public. At the beginning of each meeting 15 minutes in total, is set aside to allow members of the public to raise issues or queries on matters relevant to the work of the Council. Members of the public are not allowed to speak during any other part of the meeting.
The meeting schedule, agendas, and meeting minutes will be published regularly as they become available. Subject matters are brought before Council by means of the Agenda, which is issued a minimum of three clear days before a meeting and is also posted on the various public notice boards around the area.
Committee Meetings
The Council also has three main committees which are all open to the public. These committees make recommendations for ratification by Full Council. At the beginning of each meeting members of the public are allowed to address the Committee by speaking on any item on that meeting's Agenda.
Planning & Transportation Committee (Chairman - Matthew Brown / Vice Chairman - David Skeet)
The Planning & Transportation Committee meets once a month and makes recommendations on all planning applications within Stoke Gifford to the Planning Authority (South Gloucestershire Council).
Finance & General Purposes Committee (Chairman - Trevor Jones / Vice Chairman - Philip Holland)
The Finance & General Purposes Committee meets approximately 4 times per year and makes decisions and recommendations to Council on all financial and policy matters under the discretion of the Parish Council. This Committee is also responsible for Personnel matters.
Recreation & Leisure Committee
The Recreation & Leisure Committee meets approximately 4 times per year to discuss the parks and open spaces, and leisure facilities managed by the Council.
