Date | Aug 14, 2008 - 11:13:19 AM

A good number of 'community activities' are not performed directly by the Council.  Many are undertaken by voluntary or charitable bodies...

Grants were again made to Four Towns Transport - the local Community Transport scheme, the Volunteer Bureau, Freespace and Play Days, all of which arose from the concerted efforts of the North Fringe Local Councils Forum  The grant/ service agreement was continued to the Toy Library and North Bristol Advice Centre.

The advice centre is able to carry out home visits and this year began offering a session on Monday mornings.

£84,336.93 was raised as a direct result of the Little Stoke session and £1,165,963.81 raised in total in 2007

Last year the Council also made grants to the Royal British Legion,  the Eventide and Friendship Clubs,  S Glos. Senior Citizens. Playlink for a play scheme for disabled children and a camp for primary age children:  Alzheimers, Vitalise and Victim Support.
