This is the general layout proposed for 1250 dwellings on the ex-Hewlett Packard land which lies between Stoke Park/UWE and Lockleaze and the MOD. Interesting that they propose to build the 30% which will be managed by a Housing Association to a higher standard than the ones for sale. They reckon the development will take 10 years - the Inspector rushed the inclusion of the site into the Local Plan on the basis that it would be complete by 2011. Fortunately, South Glos' now has a Design Brief for developments, which should help to inform the quality of the site and have energy supplies such that there will be reduced CO2 emissions.
