Forty Acres Friends Group – made
good progress this year planning projects to increase the biodiversity and
community awareness within the space. They now have a Chair and Secretary and
are now looking for a Treasurer! If you want to help with practical tasks to
manage; want to develop your knowledge of; or hold interesting information for
this group, please feel welcome to come to the next meetings planned for Monday
26 January, 7.30pm and Monday 9 March, 7.30pm at Little Stoke Community Hall.
Trust Ground Improvement Group
has now formed! They aim to involve a wide range of local people in improving
the space; collate information on community needs within the space; and make
decisions in an open manner to enable democracy. Meetings aim to be as open as
possible. If you want to be part of project planning they are planned for
Wednesday 4th February and Wednesday 11th March, 7pm at
the Old School Rooms Cafe. Kate will meet local groups whose views have not
been represented, as they are identified.
Friends of Meade Park – has now
decided the location of new benches and has put forward some great ideas.
Nothing in the park can happen without a strong ‘Friends’ Group to steer a
funding application for the work. It is important that you come forward with
your ideas and commitment. Please consider, when out in the park next, are your
needs being catered for in the park and what you would improve in the park? The
next meeting is Saturday 21st February, 1-2pm at Little Stoke
Community Hall.
Little Stoke Park Project is
being steered by Young People, who are making decisions on what they want in
the park. Whilst a lot of work needs to take place, the project plan needs to
come from the whole community. It is important you have your say. If you want
to play your part in improving the parks facilities, please come to the next
meeting Saturday 21st February, 2.30-3.30pm at Little Stoke
Community Hall. Come see what the young people have planned at the Little Stoke
Youth Centre, Music Room launch event February/March time.
If you are unable to make
any of the meeting dates, would like copies of the minutes, would like to
express you views on the parks, please contact Kate O’Brien, Stoke Gifford
Community Worker on 01454 868570, or email kateobrien@sbcommunitypartnership.org.uk
