Temporary 20mph speed restriction: Hatchet Road and Brierly Furlong

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit, temporarily, any vehicle proceeding at a speed in excess of 20 miles per hour in the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this notice.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public; to allow vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists to pass under Parkway Bridge with increased safety. The order will be operative from 2 September 2021 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The restriction however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 6 months duration.
Hatchet Road - that length that extends from its junction with Sandringham Road to its junction with Brierly Furlong
Brierly Furlong - that length which extends from its junction with Hatchet Road in a south westerly direction for a distance of 130 metres.
