National Highways - 1st June 2022

National Highways operates, maintains and improves England's motorways and major A roads. This email is to notify you that we'll shortly be carrying out essential surfacing works on the M4 between junction 19 Hambrook and 18 Tormarton.

The work will start on the evening of Tuesday 14 June and finish on the morning of Tuesday 5 July.

The work will be carried out under both full and single lane closures of the M4 eastbound carriageway between junctions 19 and 18, with the works currently programmed as follows:

  • Tuesday 14 to Saturday 18 June - full overnight closure of the eastbound carriageway for 5 nights from 9pm until 6am the following morning.
  • Tuesday 21 June to Monday 4 July – partial overnight closure of the eastbound carriageway, with single lane running for 11 nights from 9pm until 6am the following morning.
  • Saturday 25 June – full overnight closure of the eastbound entry slip at junction 19 for 1 night from 9pm until 6am the following morning.

So we can carry out the works safely, there will also be lane closures. There will be a fully signed diversion route in place during the full overnight closures, but please allow extra time for your journey.

We'll make every effort to ensure the impact on the local community and travelling public is kept to a minimum. We always aim to work to the programme, however unforeseen circumstances or adverse weather conditions may mean changes. Please monitor www.trafficengland.com to keep updated.
