Message from the Chair about Covid-19
SGPC - 4th November 2020
The following is a message from the Chair of Stoke Gifford Parish Council regarding the rise in Covid-19 cases...
We have seen Covid-19 cases rise rapidly throughout the area. Of specific concern recently, is the increasing numbers in older people which could then create additional pressure on our NHS and care services.
As a result, towards the end of last week South Gloucestershire took the difficult decision to move to Tier 2, the High alert level. This has now been superseded by the Government’s decision to move to a national lockdown on Thursday. A move which is fully supported and given our incidence levels and impact on our local health and care services, we urge all our residents to follow the new guidance and adhere to the restrictions. You can find full details on the Parish website.
We must all act now to control the spread of the virus. Please continue to do the right thing to help keep everyone safe and well. This winter will be undeniably tough, but the community pulled together before to support each other and we know we can all do so again.
