Covid-19 update from South Gloucestershire Council
South Gloucestershire Council - 22nd December 2020
We were all worried to hear Saturday’s announcement about a new Covid-19 strain and resulting changes to the rules at Christmas.
Whilst we appreciate that this has meant many having to amend their Christmas plans, it is more important than ever that we all try to keep our social interactions to a minimum to stop the spread to protect our loved ones and the most vulnerable. Remember, you may only see a maximum of two other households (your ‘Christmas bubble’) on Christmas Day itself. You cannot see anyone from a Tier 4 area, and we would urge everyone to make responsible choices and consider the impact of their actions over the festive break.
However, we were pleased to hear the more positive news today that over half a million people in the UK have now received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. The speed of the vaccination rollout is good news and will support some of our most vulnerable residents.
If we need to make you aware of any further changes, we will contact you again. Thank you to all our members for your support over the last nine months, may we wish you a very happy, safe and peaceful Christmas and New Year.
