Chair of Council
As Chair of the Council, it is the Chair’s duty to uphold the rights of Councillors and the interests of the community and to efficiently carry out the business of the Council. As the Chair of Council, the Chair has the casting vote, in case of equality of votes at the council meetings. As per the Stoke Gifford Parish Council Standing Orders, the Chair and Vice-Chair of Council are also ex-officio members of all committees of the Council and the Chair of Council acts as the line-manager for the Parish Clerk, who is the chief officer of the Council.
