Heard about the new M4/M5 roadworks?

At National Highways we want to let you know about the work we’re doing in this area to make the M4 and M5 safer and fit for the future. The work starts in July 2023 and will last until summer 2024.
What’s happening?
We’ll be repairing the bridges on the M5 at junctions 15 and 16 (Almondsbury and Patchway) which are now over 50 years old.
We’ll be upgrading the safety barriers and providing more emergency areas at the M4/M5 junction.

We know this is a busy area, and there’s never a good time to carry out roadworks. We’ve organised the upgrades so they’ll overlap – reducing how long the work will take and enabling our contractors to share resources (helping to cut costs). Thank you for your patience as we carry out this important work.
