Temporary Road Closures due to Resurfacing Works

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians the roads and lengths of road specified in Schedule 1 to this notice.

This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon surface dressing and carriageway patching works. The order will be operative from 20 September 2023 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 week duration, at each location in respect of each road or length of road. Schedule 1 - Closures (entire length unless otherwise specified)

1. A4175 Bath Road, Bridgeyate - that length which extends from its junction with Francis Road in a southerly direction for a distance of 1000 metres

2. Bridge Road, Kingswood

3. Manor Road, Mangotsfield

4. Forest Road, Kingswood - that length which extends from its junction with Hanham Road to its junction with Britannia Road

5. Court Farm Road, Longwell Green - that length which extends from its junction with Bath Road to its junction with Ellacombe Road

6. Long Down Avenue, Stoke Gifford - that length which extends from its junction with Coldharbour Lane to its junction with Home Leas Close

7. Scott Way, Yate

8. The Downs Road, Charfield

9. The Downs, Wickwar
