We are hiring! Join our team as a part time (10 hours per week) Cleansing Operative.

Core responsibilities and main duties

Cleaning Operations: Emptying general waste/dog bins, removing litter, fallen leaves.

Specialized Removal: Clearing fly-tipping on grounds managed by the Parish Council (dumped waste), graffiti, and disposing of hazardous waste (e.g., needles).

Reporting & Maintenance: Reporting environmental issues (e.g., potholes, damaged street furniture) to the Supervisor, maintaining tools, and cleaning vehicles.

Health & Safety: Adhering to strict safety procedures, wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensuring safe working methods.

Required Skills and Requirements

Physical Fitness: Ability to walk long distances, lift heavy waste bags, and work in all weather conditions.

Flexibility: Willingness to work early mornings, weekends when required, and occasional callouts.

Working Conditions

Mostly outdoor work, covering specific areas of the parish.

10 hours per week, often beginning early in the morning but flexible.

Will require a driving licence, as will be driving Parish Council vehicles to transport waste.
