(Various Roads, Various Wards - Carriageway Patching) (No.2) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which will has:-

a) closed, temporarily, to vehicles, pedal cycles and equestrians the lengths of road specified in Schedule 1 to this notice; and

b) closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians the lengths of road specified in Schedule 2 to this notice.

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon carriageway patching works. The order became operative from 10 August 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The restrictions however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 weeks duration in respect of each location. See Schedule 3 for alternative routes.

SCHEDULE 1

1. Chilwood Close, Iron Action - that length which extends from its junction Nibley Lane in a south westerly direction for a distance of 30 metres

2. Christchurch Avenue, Downend - the entire length

3. Church View, Downend - the entire length

4. Little Stoke Lane, Little Stoke - that length which extends from its junction with Kingsway to its junction with Olympus Close

5. Roundways, Coalpit Heath - that length which extends from its junction with Henfield Road to its junction with St Anns Drive

SCHEDULE 2

6. The Street, Olveston - that length which extends from its junction with Ley Lane to its junction with Vicarage Lane

7. Elberton Road, Olveston - that length which extends from its junction with The Street in a north easterly direction for a distance of 90 metres

SCHEDULE 3 (vice versa)

1. No alternative route available – cul-de-sac

2. & 3. Christchurch Lane, A432, Shrubbery Road

4. Little Stoke Lane (part unaffected), B4057, Gifford Crescent, Kingsway

5. St Annes Drive, Henfield Road

6. & 7. The Street (part unaffected), New Road, Haw Lane, Alveston Road, Strode Common, B4461, Redhill Lane, Aust Road AND Elberton Road (part unaffected), The Old Road Elberton then diversion as before
