Unauthorised encampments on Mike Gallivan Fields

Stoke Gifford Parish Council is actively taking legal action to evict the illegal encampment that arrived at the Mike Gallivan fields in Little Stoke on Monday, 17th August 2026, at approximately 17:30.

- Initial Reporting: The Parish Clerk immediately notified both the Avon and Somerset Police and the South Gloucestershire Council Traveller Department upon the encampment's arrival.
- Bailiff Appointment: The landowner (Stoke Gifford Parish Council) appointed Able Investigations & Enforcements Ltd on Monday evening at 23:00.
- Legal Enforcement: Able Investigations is exercising functions under Sections 77 and 78 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994.
- Court Hearing: Enforcement agents are applying for an official court hearing today, Tuesday, 18th August 2026, at 09:00, to secure an eviction order.
